Establishment of railroads in Shahid Rajaee port complex dates back the primary port’s foundation.

Equipping the port to railroad appliances has been one of the main primary parts of the port construction process, and the railways numbered from 1 to 8 of the port with an 19 km length built during this period.

On March 17, 1995; the largest commercial port of the country connected to the rail network of Iran while the opening of the Bandar-Abbas rail linking to Bafq with the presence of the related time president and the heads of the several countries, including the newly independent states of the former Soviet Union.

This has been the beginning of a major step towards liberating the single-product economy, the connection of the important mines and major economic industries to the most strategic port of the country in addition to provide access to the northern Iran's neighbors and Central Asian countries to the Persian Gulf.

The total length of the improved and optimized rail: 46.5 km-
